NYC vs. CHICAGO

New York Fashion versus Chicago Fashion 📍

New York City is just a different a vibe. It’s such a chill environment as far as meeting people, fashion scene and night life. People in New York aren’t as “extra” as we are in Chicago when we go out. A concert, expensive restaurant date or a night out consist of sneakers, leggings, hoodies, etc. chill shit! In Chicago….. mannnnn we throw on heels just to grab drinks! 😂

Now for me, the way I present myself to the world is genuine because of how much I love fashion, but also because I feel my best when I’m dressed up! And don’t get me wrong… there are people in New York who can dress their ass off! But somehow on this trip…. everyone was so chill. I love the vibe and aesthetic of New York. Being in lower Manhattan - Tribeca to Soho was very upscale and bougie lol but still not as “extra” as Chicago!

That’s what I love about about my city…. Chicago shows up and shows out every time for everything. And it’s not to “stunt” it’s a way of life! It’s home, it’s our culture.

I found this balance with joggers, heels and a corset for the Chris Brown concert. Yet somehow…. I was still over dressed! 🙃

Even going to a 5 star restaurant right under the Brooklyn Bridge….. people were soooooo chill. Like boat shoes meets walking on a college campus to class chill!

But me? I showed up like this…. 😭👇🏾

But the city is beautiful and I would go back to explore more and see parts that I didn’t get a chance to see. I want to engulf myself in their Fashion culture and teach them something’s too 🙃

Chicago is incomparable 📍 we’re just different 🤞🏾
